As of yesterday, it has been two weeks (I think) since I created my blog and two days since I sent out the link to all my friends and family to see.

Two weeks-three posts (well four posts including this one) and the beginnings of what I hope to be a very successful blog.

The process was simple, just go to wordpress, enter a name, choose a theme and just write a post but it was far harder than that.

Creating a name for my blog was one of the hardest things I’ve probably ever done and after a few months, yes months of thinking, I finally came up with All Beyond Lines because I believe that words have powers to go farther than just the pages of a book and words can inspire people.

Perhaps another challenge was being able to finally make my poetry public. I was excited after I created my blog because I wanted to share what I had written but I was also nervous. Making my blog public means that anyone can see what I write, which puts a lot of pressure on me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve written tons of bad poetry before. In fact, there are times where I feel like I’ve written more bad than good but now I realize that it’s completely okay to have some bad (okay more like completely horrible) poems.

Another thing that I had to think a lot about was whether I should open the comments section or not. Opening the comments section meant I got to see what others really thought of my writing but it also meant I had to be ready to accept criticism. Eventually, I decided to leave the section open because I realized that at some point, I would have to learn how to use criticism as a “learning experience” (I sound like a teacher now but criticism is really important to help yourself grow).

It’s been a cool experience so far, although a little bit scary but I’m starting to really enjoy blogging and being able to share my writing. Seeing all the text messages from friends and family saying that they enjoy what I’m writing makes me feel very happy and inspires me to write more.

I don’t just want to post only poems on my blog but I want to share my experiences through this blog too. I want this to be a place where I can express myself and develop my writing and I hope this will be a place where you can be inspired to try writing something too because we’re all writers at heart.
